In Sweden our work consists of advocay, lobbying, information, fund-raising and campaigning around issues that prevent Africa from developing and gaining power over its own resources.
Information and advocacy is often carried out in cooperation with other Swedish organizations and networks.
AGS organises seminars and workshops and publish a monthly magazine as well as books and other study material.
In order to finance our work in Africa we fund-raise in various ways. This year we are joining the big national TV-event Children of the World.

The EPA trade negotiations between EU and 76 former colonies in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP countries) where EU wants the African countries to open up their markets for European goods to 80% in 15 years.

Gender Equality in relations to HIV. HIV/Aids is one of the biggest threats to development in Southern Africa and equality is a key factor in the struggle agains Aids.

Anti-corruption where we call upon Sweden to make a key issue of fighting corruption at its roots. The problems lie not only with those receiving bribes, but also with those giving them and so corruption must be stopped at the source.
Corruption, causes and medicin
Article about the roots of corruption - Western Sahara is the last colonial state, still waiting to be declared as their own nation. Two thirds of the country is occupied by Marocco and they are plundering and exploiting the natural resources protected by a long wall. Africa Groups of Sweden are campaigning for Western Sahara to be acknowledged as an own nation.
